North-Finland - about 60 miles away from Oulu in different shacksThis shack is called "Erlenplatz" which means the place where the alders are growing. The house lays deep into the forrest at a small creek, and is big enough to sleep 12 people. As my birthday present I was invitet by my friend Osmo to stay in with him at different hunting shacks. Nice view out of the cabin to the creek. For drinking water supply there is a little well close by. Of course there is a sauna everywhere in Finland. After a long day outside and for to finish a day, it is just the best you can do: go into a sauna. For to cool-off you just walk into the creek. Laukokoski is the name of the summerhouse which belongs to Osmo's "Queen", it lays idyllically on a riverside and you can only get there by boat. The "Queens" empire. Wolverine, is the name of this hunting shack that belongs to Osmo and his friends. Chief cook Osmo is planning a dinner. Everyone has to go to this place almost every day. Simple but sufficient. Eero, a friend of Osmo, showed me the special scenic landscape around Vaala. Numerous lichens are growing in this area and there are people who are harvesting them. But we were harvesting delicious mushrooms, the yellow boletus. Eero Kemila is a famous photographer and researcher of bears. The harvest of our collecting mushrooms app. 19 pounds. |
