The anniversary team. It was our tenth tour to the working camp Gulag.
Well planned from suvervisor Willi, who drove with his car ahead of the slave group. This group was leaded by the serf Axel. And they went by ship Stena Line.
Herbert, Axel, Bernd and Christoph in Kiel at the Stena Germanica
This was the rest area ÖdsKölt in Schweden, we allways used on our tours from Göteborg to Paradies.
The entry to Sweden with dogs is normaly no problem, if you've all papers. This time the vet forgot an entry in the proof of vaccination. So we had to wait at the border until the certificate was sent by a faxmachine.
Checking the barbeque place, and fearfull question, if anything will be ready for dinner tonight.
Christoph, Axel and the two dogs. This were the boss' of bbq this week. Axel had taken care of diversified excellent dinners.
The evening hours had been rare this year, because of the cold weather and the rain.
Mostly it was only about 50 degrees F. and we had often some showers.
Plan was to build a new landing stage who could also used as brekfast place for Tina and Willi.
Dietrich and Christoph having a lunch break.
Indoor construction site. Here it was at least dry, but sometime very dusty. The old fireplace had to go, and a new oven should come in. Lots to do for Herbert, Hans-Helmut and Thomas.
Matze, a swedish constructor, brought the concrete tube that should come underneath the stage. It's weight was about 700 pounds and it should be moved by a tractor.
Several times the tractor was almost tipping over. Only because of Matzes quick reactions it went well.
With only about 50 degrees F airtemperatur and about the same in the water, it was not easy to work into the lake.
The tube was in the water. We had to fix it into the ground rock, and to fill it with special concrete. And on top we had to put two telegraph poles.
Checking if everything is well done.
Sometimes Hans-Helmut from the indoor group, had to do outdoor jobs.
Lunch breaks were sometimes necessary and very delicious because of our good Gulag-cook chief Willi.
Bernd was sometimes responsable for cooking vegetables. Without such green chow we probably had starved on scurvy.
Christoph had a surprise for everyone. He had made everybody a nice beer mug out of a birch log. Everyone got an unique piece.
Eric and his wife were on visit. Talking to them was no problem by using Swedish, English and German.
Every year we have lots of nice sun-down-pictures, but they are never booring.
A special cleaning job had to be done to the trailer after the concrete has been transportet in it.
Telegraph poles are not easy to transport. But Willi and his swedish car had no problems at all.
Herbert, Hans-Helmut and Thomas (gotograph) had done this good job. The new fireplace is allmost finished.
And here it is: the new oven. Now they had to start the finishing to make everything good looking.
What is Dietrich reading? Probably only some special papers for information.
The hornblowers practicing hour. We needed it for the soon coming event.
How big and how heavy this piece was, you can imagine by this picture. How should we get this big thing in the right place?
With lots of man-power we made it.
Jürgen and Bernd startet to screw on the planks made of lark.
It was not ready yet, but allready used for a break.
Big group, only the photographer Thomas is missing.
At the evening everyone was tired, but nobody wanted to miss the sitting at the fire.
Masterpiece of the indoor team. The picture was good enough to be printed in a comercial catalogue. A jewl for the whole room.
On departure day the weather was getting better.
Departure on Stena Line ferry. Willi stayed in Sweden, there was not enough place in the car. There was a small acclamation on bord between us, where to have dinner this night. The Bistro won.
